Process
The standard lineal process for executing a scope of work does not always meet the needs created by today’s compressed schedule environment. MM offers multiple services to adapt to each project’s unique needs.
- Collaboration – Our collaborative approach begins with educating the Architect and Engineer on critical aspects of proper expansion joint system selection. The Project Team will receive Good, Better, & Best solutions with feature/benefit vs. cost implications.
- Workshops – Our technical team will host or facilitate coordination workshops between the General Contractor, our Certified Expansion Joint Installer, and other related trades to identify common costly mistakes and steps to prevent them.
- Installation Support – MM’s Certified Contractors have been factory-trained in proper installation methods and represent the most qualified Installers in the industry. Prior to installation, MM provides refresher training to bring the Certified Contractor current with any recent changes in “best practice” installation procedures.
Partners
MM Systems offers design and selection services with Architects during project development and product selection, consults Contractors on risk-mitigation practices, and supports Installers with certification schools and project-specific training.
- Design Team – Partnering with Design Teams entails educational and workshop sessions designed to inform and develop solutions for every expansion joint service condition. For advanced design and development support, MM offers formal Design-Assist.
- General Contractors – GCs are often unaware of the potential risks associated with expansion joints. Remediating expansion joint failures can be expensive and present latent liabilities that may present themselves in the future. - Installation Contractors – Beginning with best-in-class factory training and subsequent refresher workshops, MM partners with Installation Contractors throughout the execution phase. When needed, Certified Contractors may request on-site or remote-video consultation for one-off as-built conditions.
