The Barclay at SouthPark is a luxury senior living community in the desirable SouthPark district of Charlotte, NC. The comfortable living space offers a wide variety of floor plans, amenities, and wellness programs for all stages of retirement in a resort-style environment.
A luxury design requires careful attention to detail—right down to the expansion joints. MM Systems had several on-site meetings with LS3P Architects, Choate Construction, and Palmetto Waterproofing to navigate the unique design requirements while also focusing on a cost-effective solution. The Seismic No-Bump Floor Joint (LASB-NBR) was used to create a smooth, minimal look to the floors. A high-end facility requires special care for aesthetics as well as consideration for pedestrian daily movement.
Aesthetics from the floor to the ceiling meant a seamless transition from the LASB-NBR on the floor and up the wall using our Vertical Sealing Wall System (VSW) and our Wall and Ceiling System (VSG) across the ceiling expansion joints in the lobby. With seals coming in a variety of colors, it’s easy to match any aesthetic.
