Globe Life Field is a $1.2 billion public-private partnership between the City of Arlington and the Texas Rangers. As a multi-purpose seven-level seating sports and entertainment venue, the bustling concourses were certain to be a concern for pedestrian and equipment movement.
The concourses are some of the largest in baseball—making space for high pedestrian traffic as well as carts, forklifts, and other machinery for this multi-purpose venue. With a unique retractable roof, accommodations needed to be made for our products to be both aesthetically pleasing in an expansive area as well as create a water barrier between the joints.
MM Systems worked directly with HKS, Inc., to develop an expansion joint solution that was not only no-bump but also waterproof. A layered combination of our Dual Interlocking Hinge System (DIH) over our LokCrete® Membrane System (LMS) was used to meet all the required needs with beautiful results!
The DIH system provides a smooth and virtually impact-free transition between opposing floor surfaces in addition to accommodating the heavy rolling loads and multi-directional seismic movement.
