LS3P Architects reached out to MM Systems because of their successful experiences with our products on previous projects. The challenge with this design was the potential for extreme seismic movement of the expansion joints and a need for 100% movement from the 12” nominal joint openings.

Our engineers provided an updated custom design for the Seismic Slide Plate (SSP) System to accommodate the extreme movement requirements. Careful communication and coordination were necessary for a timely install to accommodate deadlines and allow travelers access to the facility.

The new Charleston Airport parking structure features 3,000 spaces, five levels of parking, a rental car facility on level 1, and an elevated walkway to the terminal.
