Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest

The Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest was built in 1974. After years of wear and tear, renovations were in order along with an addition—the Kasych Pavilion. The Kasych Pavilion became the centerpiece for the campus with a more modern façade. An expanse of windows for patient rooms and the use of aluminum panels accentuates the precast concrete.

As part of the exterior, our Vertical Seismic Sealing System (VSS) blends seamlessly into the building, while functioning as a continuous expansion joint seal. A secondary moisture barrier under the seal serves as a second line of defense against water infiltration through the joint. The VSS System transitions cleanly with our RXH Metal Roof System and provides continuity of moisture resistance.

With the original building still serving as the primary egress from the facility, our fire-rated Seismic Egress Portal (SEP) provided a Tailored Technology Solution™ linking the two buildings. SEP accommodates seismic movement without sacrificing the level pedestrian surfaces that healthcare facilities require.
