UNLV Tropicana Parking Garage Expansion

Located near the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) faces a unique growth challenge. Making room for campus improvements and growth at the interior has moved most of the parking to the outskirts of campus. With limited land, the best way to expand is up.

The Tropicana Parking Garage had offered student and off-campus parking for over two decades, but it was certainly time for an upgrade and an addition of over 1,000 new stalls. An additional four-story garage was added to the existing garage on all levels.

With the new addition, comes increased traffic flow to the deck. Our Rubber Safety Cover (Dual Hinge) (RSC) provides expansion joint covering for the high volume of vehicular traffic every day. It also accommodates for the vertical offsets in opposing concrete decks of both the new and the old deck. Our Surface Mount Seismic (SMS) accounts for wide expansion joint openings at the stairwells and works with our Flexible Gutter System to provide additional waterproofing for the system.
